
Interventions
The goal of any intervention is to further progress the clients development. To notice, reflect, prepare, and intervene. Taking action to improve the situation for the better. All people involved help to come up with a plan to fix the situation.
Life-Space Interventions
The environment that the youth resides in on a daily basis. The life experiences that the youth has, and finding ways to create new opportunities for them, for growth and development. The CYC Practitioner must understand that every interaction with a youth is an opportunity to build relationships, communication skills, and complete activities together. Life-space is seen through the physical environment and the activities of daily living. ​​
Planned Intervention
Planned interventions come from the selection of individual goals or objectives that the youth has. It is consistent and purposeful to the individual person. Designed activities support these goals and objectives that the youth has in their mind.
Group Work
​A group of people working towards a similar goal. There is a focus on the group dynamics. Everyone knows the role that they play in the group, and everyone works together in order to complete the common goal. Problem-solving is involved, as well as being fair when dividing up the workload.​
Intervention Plans
Intervention plans allow the youth to be successful. There are regular reviews of these plans. These plans are lengthy. They include the needs, goals, objectives, strengths, and struggles of the youth in care.​​
Advocacy
Understanding the youths room for growth and change. Stand with the youth. In front of them when they are in crisis. Beside them to work together and help them find their voice. Behind them when they have found their voice. Be that person for the youth and use your voice when they cannot use theirs. Do not push them out of their comfort zone.​​​​
